In 1990 Allgood was awarded the major
part of the Canary Wharf project and a seven year contract for the
British Library. However in 1991, the recession hit. Nevertheless,
the strength of the company allowed for significant investment into
a networked sales order and purchase order processing system, expanding
the Birmingham site to provide next day delivery from a centralised
distribution centre with some £4 million worth of stock and subsequently
a networked sales and marketing database.
In 1999, Allgood introduced the Sembla range of fittings. Created
by UK design group A.S.K in partnership with Allgood, the concept
of the range was based around the central node. The opportunity
of being able to offer a choice of the three most respected hardware
ranges to specifiers also presented the company with the challenge
of ensuring that the marketplace understood the meaning of each
brand.
The result of the branding work done with Conran Design Group is
the new
logo and brand map - endorsing the
company's determination to strive for excellence in everything it
does with the
device being used to link inextricably the brands to the company.
Allgood also supplied one of the World's largest construction projects,
Hong Kong International Airport.
